Setting up ViviMate takes most people ten to fifteen minutes. You install a player app, type in the details from your setup message, and the channel list and TV guide load automatically. This guide covers the general process first, then the specifics for each type of device.
Before you start
Have these ready:
- Your ViviMate setup message. Depending on your device it contains an Xtream Codes login (server address, username, password), an M3U playlist link, or a portal address.
- The device you'll watch on, connected to the internet and updated to its latest software.
- A decent connection. Run the streaming speed test on that device if you haven't already.
Type details exactly as sent. Server addresses, usernames and passwords are case-sensitive, and a missing http:// or an extra space is the most common reason a first login fails.
Step 1: Choose a player for your device
ViviMate is a subscription, not an app, so you need an IPTV player. These are the supported players for each device. All are third-party apps made by independent developers; they are not ViviMate products.
| Device | Player apps | Login method |
|---|---|---|
| Fire TV / Firestick | TiviMate, IPTV Smarters | Xtream Codes |
| Android phone, tablet, TV box | TiviMate, IPTV Smarters | Xtream Codes or M3U |
| Smart TV | IBO Player, Smart IPTV, IPTV Smarters | M3U or Xtream Codes |
| iPhone, iPad | IPTV Smarters, GSE Smart IPTV | Xtream Codes or M3U |
| Mac / PC | VLC, IPTV Smarters | M3U |
| Xbox / PlayStation | Confirmed in your setup instructions | Confirmed in your setup instructions |
| MAG device | MAG built-in portal | MAG portal |
App availability changes from time to time and varies by country. If a player isn't in your device's store, pick another from the list or ask support for a suggestion. See the full ViviMate compatible devices list for more detail.
Step 2: Add your ViviMate login
Using an Xtream Codes login (recommended where supported)
- Open the player and choose the option to add a playlist, user or login.
- Select Xtream Codes (sometimes labelled "Xtream Codes API" or "Login with Xtream").
- Enter any name you like, for example "ViviMate".
- Enter the server address, username and password from your setup message.
- Save. The player downloads the channel list, the VOD library and the TV guide.
Xtream Codes is usually the better choice because the player receives live TV, films, series and the EPG in one go, and it can show your subscription's expiry date. The M3U vs Xtream Codes guide compares the two in detail.
Using an M3U playlist link
- Open the player and choose to add a playlist by URL.
- Paste the M3U link exactly as sent.
- If the player has a separate EPG field, paste the EPG link from your setup message.
- Save and wait for the playlist to load.
Step 3: Load the TV guide
With an Xtream Codes login the guide normally appears without extra steps; give it a minute or two on first load. With M3U, make sure the EPG link has been added. If programme information is missing or the times are off, the ViviMate EPG guide explains how to fix it.
Device-by-device notes
Amazon Fire TV and Firestick
Fire TV is a simple, inexpensive way to watch ViviMate on any TV with an HDMI port. Some players are in the Amazon Appstore; others must be installed with the Downloader app. We've written a dedicated ViviMate Firestick setup guide covering both routes.
Samsung and LG Smart TVs
Open your TV's app store (Samsung Apps on Tizen, LG Content Store on webOS) and install a player. Some Smart TV players don't let you type details on the TV itself; instead they show a MAC address or device key, and you add your M3U link through the player's own website. Follow the on-screen instructions, then restart the app to load your playlist. The ViviMate Smart TV guide covers each TV type in detail.
Android phones, tablets and TV boxes
Install a player from Google Play, open it and add your Xtream Codes login. On Android TV boxes, a player designed for the TV interface, such as TiviMate, is far easier to use with a remote than a phone-style app. More in the ViviMate Android guide.
iPhone and iPad
Install IPTV Smarters or GSE Smart IPTV from the App Store and add your Xtream Codes login or M3U link. See the ViviMate iOS guide for iPhone and iPad tips.
Xbox and PlayStation
ViviMate supports Xbox and PlayStation. Mention your console when you order, and your setup instructions will name the app to install and how to add your login.
Mac and PC
The quickest option is VLC media player: choose Media → Open Network Stream (Windows) or File → Open Network (Mac), paste the M3U link and press Play. VLC is handy for checking a connection, while a dedicated IPTV player gives you a proper guide and channel groups. The ViviMate Mac and PC guide walks through both options.
MAG boxes
- Send the MAC address from the label on the underside of the box to support when you order.
- On the box, open Settings → System settings → Servers → Portals.
- Enter a name for Portal 1 and the portal address from your setup message.
- Save and restart the box. The portal loads automatically.
For time-zone settings and portal errors, see the ViviMate MAG box guide.
First-time tips
- Hide what you don't watch. Most players let you hide channel groups, which makes the list much faster to browse.
- Build a favourites list for the channels you use every day.
- Use the hardware decoder (often the default) for smooth 4K playback. Try the software decoder only if you see a black screen or glitches.
- Prefer a cable. An Ethernet connection is almost always steadier than Wi-Fi, especially for 4K.
If something goes wrong
Double-check the details first, since a typo is the most likely culprit. Then work through the ViviMate troubleshooting guide. If you're still stuck, contact support with your device, your player app and a photo of any error message.
