Amazon's Fire TV Stick is a low-cost way to add ViviMate to almost any TV with an HDMI port. This guide covers choosing the right model, installing a player (from the Appstore or with the Downloader app), entering your ViviMate login and tuning the device for smooth playback.

Step 1: Check your Fire TV model

Any current Fire TV device can run an IPTV player, but capabilities differ:

  • HD models output up to 1080p. That's fine for most live TV, but they can't show 4K.
  • 4K models (Fire TV Stick 4K, 4K Max, Fire TV Cube) output 4K with HDR, and have more memory and faster processors, which makes browsing large channel lists noticeably quicker.

No Fire TV device currently outputs 8K. If 8K matters to you, read the ViviMate 4K and 8K guide for the hardware you'd need.

Step 2: Install an IPTV player

Option A: from the Amazon Appstore

  1. From the Fire TV home screen, open Find → Search.
  2. Search for the player you want to use, for example an IPTV player that supports Xtream Codes.
  3. Select it and choose Get or Download.

Which players are listed changes over time and between countries. If yours is there, this is the simplest route. Skip to step 3. Not sure which player to pick? The supported Fire TV players are TiviMate and IPTV Smarters, compared in the ViviMate IPTV player guide.

Option B: sideload with the Downloader app

Some popular players, TiviMate among them, are distributed by their developers outside the Appstore. Fire TV lets you install these once you allow it for a specific app.

  1. Install Downloader (by AFTVnews) from the Appstore.
  2. Enable developer options: go to Settings → My Fire TV → About and select your device name seven times until a message confirms you're a developer.
  3. Go back to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer options → Install unknown apps and switch Downloader on.
  4. Open Downloader and enter the download address published on the player developer's official website.
  5. When the download finishes, choose Install, then Done. Downloader offers to delete the installer file afterwards to free space; say yes.

Only install apps from their official developer. Unofficial copies of player apps are a common source of malware and broken builds. If you're unsure of the right address, ask ViviMate support.

Step 3: Add your ViviMate login

  1. Open the player you installed.
  2. Choose to add a playlist and select Xtream Codes.
  3. Enter the server address, username and password from your ViviMate setup message.
  4. Name the playlist, save, and wait for channels, VOD and the TV guide to load.

The on-screen keyboard is slow for long addresses. The Fire TV app on your phone includes a keyboard that makes typing much quicker.

Step 4: Optimise your Fire TV for streaming

  • Use Ethernet if you can. Amazon sells an Ethernet adapter for Fire TV sticks. Wired connections avoid most Wi-Fi drop-outs.
  • On Wi-Fi, use the 5 GHz band and keep the stick in view of the router where possible. The included HDMI extender cable can move the stick out from behind the TV and improve reception.
  • Clear the app cache occasionally: Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications → your player → Clear cache.
  • Keep Fire OS updated in Settings → My Fire TV → About → Check for Updates.
  • Set the display to match your TV: Settings → Display & Sounds → Display → Video Resolution. Leave it on Auto unless you have a reason to change it.
  • Restart weekly. Holding Select and Play/Pause together for five seconds restarts the stick and frees memory.

Then run the ViviMate speed test in the Fire TV's Silk browser to see the speed the stick itself is getting, which is often lower than on a phone in the same room. If you use a VPN app on the stick, test with it switched on too; the ViviMate VPN guide has tips for keeping it fast.
